Midnight Reverie

$185.00

4x12 Black Gallery Shadow Box

There is an hour before sleep takes you. When the mind loosens its grip and the world softens at its edges. Midnight Reverie lives in that hour.

This vertical study brings together four specimens united by a singular palette of deep cobalt, ink black, and the cold shimmer of moonlight on still water. The Lyropteryx apollonia opens the composition at the crown, its electric blue rays cutting through darkness like light through a cathedral window. Below it the Arhopala araxes offers a quieter iridescence, tawny gold dissolving into blue, a study in transition. The Precis rhadama anchors the center, its muted earth tones punctuated by flashes of violet that only reveal themselves under direct light. The Nessaea hewitsoni closes the arrangement with authority, deep obsidian wings carrying bold strokes of cerulean that feel almost painted.

Set against a black background in an elongated gallery shadowbox, each specimen is labeled in formal Latin script. This is a piece for the contemplative collector. For rooms that breathe slowly and hold their secrets close.

Features:

  • Specimen Quad: Lyropteryx apollonia, Arhopala araxes, Precis rhadama, Nessaea hewitsoni

  • Display: Elongated vertical black gallery shadowbox, 4x12

  • Hardware: Four ornate brass filigree corner accents

  • Typography: Formal Latin nomenclature script beneath each specimen

  • Origin: Ethically sourced. Handmade in Portland, Oregon.
